I am a erlang programmer looking for contract work. My skills include
couchdb/couchdb-lucene,elasticsearch and redis
I am the author of specter (http://brislink.github.io/specter), a simple CMS
and wrinqle (http://github.com/brickcap/wrinqle) a websocket server based on cowboy. The aim is to provide an easy to setup, fast, concurrent and aware socket server. It uses cowboy for the websocket library. It is still a work in progress :)
At the moment I am reading the code base of couchdb as I am quite fasinated by it and working hard at learning open resty (the most underrated web framewrok imo)
Feel free to contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have a work related opportunity or just want to say hi.

Our summarized developer experience is over 80 years.
We are developing software of various degree of complexity. We have worked with following projects:
- planning, developing and deployment of scalable reliable (uptime 99.99%) distributed backends, that serve concurrently millions of users
- development of client-side part of web-applications
Below are three selected projects for which we have created backends:
1. Publish-subscribe near-realtime system (with very low latency) for leading polish web-portal Onet.pl, which is used for transmissions (http://eurosport.onet.pl/) from live events, both sport and political. System handles up to 1.5 millions of users concurrently and it can be scaled up to 10 millions of users without software modifications. We are providing service for production machines; SLA with high requirements for reliability.
2. Canadian-owned micro-blogging service Plurk.com (http://plurk.com), which is used actively by several hundred of thousands of users and has several millions of registered users mostly from South-Eastern Asia.
3. American-owned LivePress.com (http://livepress.com) that provides software for live blog updates in real time, that is capable of service up to 800k of users from single extra-large EC2 instance and scales up to 100 machines in single cluster. All while keeping latency as low as 1 seconds for 95. percentile of users.
I hope our experience will helpful for your Company and your projects.

Started from academic background working on numerical simulations of particle physics processes and implementing data mining algorithms processing LHC data for my scientific lab.
Last 2 years was a technical leader in core data processing team of AlrertLogic (www.alertlogic.com) providing software powering scalable fault tolerant backed for their products.
~ 1PB aggregated long term storage ~1TB/day complex input data (syslog and IDS messages) processing in close to real time mode . Back-end was responsible for things like map-reduce based searches on long term data for UI and handling consistency of OLAP structures in NoSQL DB for generating reports in semi real-time.
Also an algorithm for efficiently parsing syslog messages with more then 10k patterns simultaneously was developed.

(1) Classifieds, e.g. for vehicles and accompanying goods;
(2) Embeddable socialization and consulting IM service for ecommerce sites;
(3) Middleware (for several high loaded sites) integrating application servers, database servers with restrictive license, web servers etc;
(4) Erlang based wiki or wiki-like CMS with blogs, multiuser chat for comments and MediaWiki syntax;
(5) Some serverside stuff for medics, radiology physicians.
I learned a lot of good things, many thanks to all those Erlang/OTP, yaws, ejabberd etc etc :-)
Other old projects with my participation (and under my leadership):
(1) software for medical image processing in Computer Aided Tomography;
(2) computer vision for casino;
(3) lot of outsorcing...
Unfortunately, I had no idea about Erlang that time :-(

I'm a developer with 14 years of experience, I started to learn programming when I was 15, got my first job at 18, now I'm 32.
I am a full stack developer, I started with linux and c when I was really younger, from there I moved to windows, visual languages and desktop applications, then got back to linux programming and from there to web development and web services.
On my last full time work I was working for Travelocity/Sabre as a UI Teach Leader, until I quit and started to work on my own as a consultant. Now I'm working as a full time consultant/partner for EligibleAPI on the Health Industry on SF.
I learn functional programming some years ago, and got interested in Erlang last year because of the need to implement scalable web services. I don't have too much experience on Erlang yet, just a couple of scalable services implemented and deployed.
I'm looking for part time Erlang projects to earn more experience on it.http://totally-erlang.com/id/6592014-07-15T12:13:57+02:002013-03-28T18:48:31+01:00Marcia Nelsonhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/659Marcia Nelsonhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/6562014-07-15T12:13:57+02:002013-03-21T11:50:11+01:00Hana Bencikovahttp://totally-erlang.com/id/656Hana BencikovaI am a Recruitment Consultant for Kaizen Recruitment in Dublin, focusing and specializing on IT sector with leaders on the global market.

I begin programming and earn money by it in may 2005 year. Now i'm a strong adept of Erlang. But my first language was C++ and Java. At first time i develop desktop application for Win32 : spying system and "work list reports" for building company. After that i took part in startUp project kupui.com and ukrmoney.com on perl - ukrainian analogs of ebay.com and paypal.com. This projects were unsuccessful. In 2007 i begin develop audit system for financianal bank also on perl. During this time i aslo learn php and python/django for outsouce work. In 2011 i found erlang, change job on specialize stuff, and now i'm strong adept of Erlang,thinking that it is a future of modern scalable,highload systems

I've managed to inject Erlang into the following vectors:
Commodities department of Royal Bank of Canada,

I’m looking for work where my experience and creative development skills will be used. I’m not seeking a title but a
position where I can remain hands on and yet have enough responsibility and trust to really contribute to the
company. In my career I’ve had the privilege to built really great development teams, and with them create
powerful and successful frameworks and applications. I’m hoping these experiences and my strong technical and
creative abilities will be exploited. Although I’ve often led teams I’m also very willing to take a back seat; listen,
learn, reflect and then contribute.http://totally-erlang.com/id/4862014-07-15T12:14:05+02:002011-12-01T01:27:41+01:00Timothy Chenhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/486Timothy Chenhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/4822014-07-15T12:14:05+02:002011-11-22T09:25:27+01:00Erlang Engineer-Karthik Arumugamhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/482Erlang Engineer-Karthik ArumugamHave experience in erlang/otp,mnesia,couchdb,yaws,rabbitmq,chicagoboss.

http://totally-erlang.com/id/3872014-07-15T12:14:09+02:002010-08-22T17:54:46+02:00Administratorhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/1Fernando "Brujo" BenavidesI'm a functional developer based on Buenos Aires, Argentina.
I started using computers when I was 9, and programming when I was 10. Those days, I wrote many programs in Basic for Commodore, mostly small games.
When I was 18, I got my degree in Computer Technical. Those days I wrote some real-life programs in Visual Basic, like an administrative software for taxi agencies.
My first real work was in a banking software company in february of 2000. I started working as a junior programmer and through the years I became senior developer, tester, project leader, tech leader and finally, software architect. My responsabilities there involved the design and development of different banking systems for windows and/or web platforms. Those systems had strong volume, performance and security requirements. For some projects I was also responsible of coordinating several teams and even setting company standards.
After eight years on G&F, I felt the need to grow up and embrace new technologies. Then I switched to Novamens, where I started developing Erlang systems for a VoIP company.
At the same time I was studying in the Buenos Aires University to became a computer scientist and that's what I am now. You can check out my final thesis project (a development platform built in Haskell, called λPage) at http://haskell.hpage.com.
I spent two years working at Novamens, then I got my Erlang Solutions' Intermediate Certificate and met Chad DePue right when he was creating Inaka Labs. I joined the company and I'm working there since its very beginnings, developing highly concurrent applications for this new social world we're living in.
After several years creating software solutions in Erlang, I feel very confident working with it and I keep learning new stuff every day.
After all these years, what I liked most of my work were the chances to learn and the possibilities to use my creativity in a productive way.http://totally-erlang.com/id/3852014-07-15T12:14:09+02:002010-08-16T11:18:06+02:00Administratorhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/1Cuong Bien LeI'm Le Bien Cuong. I'm from Ho Chi Minh City, a big city of the country Viet Nam. I'm a "computer-computer science, open source softwares-addict and software developer". I've been working in those areas for a long time (9 years).
Now I'm working with Erlang, Python languages and a lot of technologies wich are builded from those languages. And I feel very happy about that.
I've got a big chance by working with Justin Kirby (blog.openaether.org) . He is one of the top of experts in using technologies concerned with Erlang/OTP and Jabber/XMPP protocol. I've learned from him a lot.

I am really interested in Erlang software development.
Sadly, I have no real experience more than a couple of courses about fault-tolerant systems and concurrent programming.http://totally-erlang.com/id/3652014-07-15T12:14:10+02:002010-08-05T10:33:44+02:00Administratorhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/1Alexander DemidenkoDevelopment of telecommunication solutionshttp://totally-erlang.com/id/3632014-07-15T12:14:10+02:002010-08-02T08:27:50+02:00Administratorhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/1Gleb Peregudhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/3612014-07-15T12:14:10+02:002010-07-30T18:12:06+02:00Administratorhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/1Chris Whealy15 years at SAP doing all types of technical work starting with installations, upgrades and ABAP coding (business apps and techie stuff like master data extraction to XML files and printer drivers).
Since the mid nineties, I have specialised in web based interfaces to SAP.
Since 2003, have specialised in an SAP web development toolkit called "Web Dynpro for Java".
I've written two books on the subject (see http://www.sap-press.com/products/Inside-Web-Dynpro-for-Java-%282nd-Edition%29.html), both the standard SAP training courses, eLearning material and magazine articles.
For the last 5 years, I've lectured at SAP's technical trade show called TechEd, and travelled all over the world, not only to teach Web Dynpro for Java, but also to help customers out of implementation difficulties.
Since the start of 2010, I've been looking at using Erlang + YAWS as a platform for web based business applications.
Would be very interested to hear from any company that wants to take Erlang into the business application space (i.e. Erlang <-> SAP communication)http://totally-erlang.com/id/3602014-07-15T12:14:10+02:002010-07-30T14:34:58+02:00Administratorhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/1Dominique de WaleffeExperienced computer scientist

There's something about Erlang in particular that resonates with me.
I've written some small Erlang projects professionally and am looking for more.

I worked at Freeserve/Wanadoo/Orange (at the time the UK's biggest site), then at LINK (UK cash machine network switch) where I wrote the code for distributing the 3DES keys and also settlement with the Bank Of England.
Since then I have been a contractor. I have worked on 4oD, Seesaw.co.uk and AT&T video on demand applications and on less high profile contracts also (including insurance and e-learning).
I have been a keen hobbysit erlanger for over 2 years and have completed some paid, freelance assignments using Mochiweb and other erlang libraries. I have contributed (twice) to the rebar project and am a keen user of webmachine, Mochiweb, Riak, Couchdb, Mnesia and zotonic.
I have written a few libraries/OTP apps which you can see on github.com/russelldb
Erlang and FP may or may not be the future of my industry (I think so) but they are certainly *my* future. After 10 years in 'enterprise' Java I now love programming more and more and I really love programming in Erlang/OTP.http://totally-erlang.com/id/12014-07-30T17:06:37+02:002010-07-01T11:28:00+02:00Administratorhttp://totally-erlang.com/id/1AdministratorI am the Totally Erlang Admin.
